Belzona Staff Benefits
Here at Belzona we offer a number of additional benefits for our staff:
PRIVATE MEDICAL CARE
Along with our Occupational Health Physician (Company Doctor), who you will meet at your medical, we also offer a Private Healthcare Scheme with BUPA.
PERMANENT HEALTH INSURANCE
We look to support our employees when their health is not always at its best, following a qualifying period and subject to your claim being accepted, our permanent health insurance will pay 50% of your monthly salary until you can work again.
LIFE ASSURANCE
We offer life assurance at 4x annual salary.
PENSION
To make sure no one misses out on their workplace pensions we will automatically enrol everyone into the Group salary sacrifice scheme after three months service, however you can opt out at any time. Contributions are paid by Belzona (5%) and the employee (5%) and put into their own individual accounts. Belzona covers all the cost of administration for this scheme and gives back it’s own NI savings from salary sacrifice and pays this into employee pots as an additional (free) contribution.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
We pride ourselves on investing in our employee’s future by offering everyone the opportunity to attend training on a wide range of courses from Excel to Event training and other useful programs, providing everyone with the opportunity for career growth and personal development. In addition to training, we are also known to offer further education opportunities for those who may require it for their chosen career path.
HOLIDAY ALLOWANCE
We as a company offer each full-time employee 31 days of holiday per annum, including annual bank holidays. This is increased every 3 years by 1 day up to a maximum of 5 additional days! (Pro Rata equivalent for part time and shift workers)
SELL/CARRY OVER HOLIDAY
Do you find that you always have too much holiday to use at the end of the year? We offer a carryover (in to the next holiday year) or sell scheme of up to three days holiday.
FLEXITIME
The flexitime system allows employees of Belzona to work more flexible hours giving employees the potential to achieve a better work-life balance. Flexi-days can be taken as holiday allowing employees to have an extra 12 days annual leave per year.

EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMME
We offer staff a free 24-hour confidential helpline from Health Assured to support you through any of life’s issues or problems.
EYE TESTS
We offer all employees a contribution of £21 towards eye tests and £50 towards prescription glasses, just pay for your eye test/glasses up front and provide us with a receipt. *this benefit is available for standard eye tests/glasses on a two yearly basis
BENEFIT HUB
Benefit hub allows Belzona Staff to enjoy discounts, rewards and perks on thousands of brands and categories for example, ASOS, Sainsburys and Apple.
CYCLE TO WORK SCHEME
The Belzona Cycle to work scheme is a part of the Governments ‘Green Transport Plan’ which promotes healthier journeys to work and aims to reduce pollution. We will pay for the bike and/or equipment up front and then the employee can pay in instalments through their pay over 12 months. We see this as a great way to encourage staff to use alternative methods to get to work that can make staff healthier and reduce our Carbon emissions as a company. This is salary sacrifice scheme, it is tax-efficient (cheaper) for the employee.
PICK ME UPS
As part of the day to day running of the company, we like to make sure that we have at least one ‘pick me up’ a month. Pick me ups are fun activities or small gifts organised by the Corporate Development Team to keep everyone motivated and bring a little bit of fun and laughter to the workplace. This includes things like treats, quizzes, competitions or visits from the ice cream van.
WELL-BEING
Not only do we like to bring fun and laughter to the workplace through our Pick Me Ups, we also like to make sure that the staff stay healthy and fit with our well-being events. These can be anything from step challenges, mental health advice to yoga classes. We like to make sure that we do something different and interesting for all employees.
STAFF CELEBRATIONS!
An important part of the Belzona Vision is for the company to be a fun place to work. Belzona hold a variety of inclusive activities for employees’ including staff parties and regular staff meetings to give an opportunity for everyone to get together and keep staff informed on what’s going on in the business.
STAFF RECOGNITION
‘Making a Difference’ is Belzona’s Staff Recognition Scheme. Each month the management team nominate staff members for going ‘above and beyond’ and one overall winner is chosen. The winner then has a menu of prizes to pick from. We also recognise staff in the way of significant service milestones, birthdays and promotions and present them with a small gift as an expression of our gratitude.
CHARITY SUPPORT
Belzona has always fostered strong links with the local community. Each year Belzona Staff choose a minimum of one charity for the workplace to support. We conduct fundraising events to raise money for this charity, for example, raffles or sponsored walks. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and encourage all staff to take part.
THE 1% CLUB
To support employee’s participation in community-based activities we formed the Belzona 1% Club! This enables employees to be given paid leave (up to 1% of their annual working time, or three days per year for most full-time staff) to spend time away from work and get involved in voluntary work in the community. The type of projects undertaken are varied, with some using this as an opportunity to start volunteering, whereas in other cases the 1% forms just a fraction of the employee’s commitment to a cause or project that they already work with.
WORKWEAR
Where your role requires it, you will be issued with full workwear (tops/trousers or coveralls), boots, jackets etc. Our workwear is laundered professionally, there is no need for anyone to take it home, so you can have fresh clean workwear every day.
Site Benefits
On site we offer free car parking, our offices are air conditioned and the warehouse and factories are heated. We have showers on site for those staff who like to cycle or run to work, or to get ready for a night out in Harrogate!
Staff can use our comfortable spacious break areas where we have fridges, freezers, microwaves, free tea and coffee, table football, pool, internet cafe PCs, wifi, table tennis, or enjoy our gardens which are well maintained with benches and tables to sit out in in the summer.
